HPTA International Participation: Dipl.-Chem. Ing. Müfit Tarhan and Dipl.-Ing. agr. Dr. Dergam at the HPTA Conference in Calgary.
The HPTA (Humic Products Trade Association) holds an annual meeting and conference that brings together stakeholders in the field of humic substances – in research, industry and application. The 2025 meeting is scheduled for 25 and 26 September 2025 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
High-level professional exchange
Müfit Tarhan, co-founder of Humintech, a leading company in the field of sustainable humic substance production, actively participated in discussions with exhibitors – the focus was on issues of product standardisation, regulation in the EU and the potential for technology-based soil remediation in semi-arid regions.
First-hand insights
During an informal roundtable organised on the sidelines of the evening event on 26 September, Dr Dergam and Mr Tarhan reported on their experiences from EU soil improvement projects, particularly in the Mediterranean region and in Eastern European transition countries. The discussion was characterised by a constructive dialogue on the transferability of scientific findings to different climatic and agroecological contexts.
Voices of participants
‘We see many interfaces – both technological and regulatory. This conference was an excellent place to initiate new partnerships.’
— Müfit Tarhan, entrepreneur, humic substance researcher & product developer.
‘The combination of scientific depth and practical exchange makes the HPTA conference unique. The North American perspective on raw material quality and application strategies in particular offers valuable insights.’
