EFRE-20400106 – Humic acid
New technologies for the environmental economy
Humic substances extracted from local leonardite have been proven to improve plant growth, soil quality and fertility; they are approved biostimulants. They also contribute to increased CO² storage in humus and soils. This consulting project focuses on long-term raw material options and access, new applications and markets for humic acids, and neutral verification of improved CO² storage in soils. The aim is also to prepare the ‘CO² certificates’ business model by or for Humintech. PDF: EFRE_JTF_NRW_Poster Humintech.
Winter rapeseed is our most important oil plant. For high yields, uniform germination and the development of strong young plants are essential. SEASON is developing a novel technology for the targeted release of biostimulants via seed coating. The aim is to strengthen the sensitive start and early development phases of the plants and increase their resilience to stress factors such as cold, drought and nutrient deficiency – without the need for additional agricultural measures. Biochemical material use of lignite
For the OxiHumin project, regionally available lignite or by-products from briquette production are used as raw materials and made available for the production of humin-based products.
The innovation consists of adding suitable microorganisms to brown coal of different origins or by-products from briquette production with relatively low humic acid contents, in this way biochemically oxidising them to humic acids and, among other things, improving their suitability as soil additives.
This project is funded by the European Union and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
