History

1974

Humintech is closely linked to this long-standing tradition. The story of the enterprise begins in the early 1970s with WESKO GmbH & Co. KG, a former subsidiary of Rheinbraun AG./ RWE Together with the institute for plant production at the University of Bonn, the company searched for an eco-friendly and sustainable approach to renaturate the post-brown-coal-mining landscapes of the Rhenish coalfields. The result of these efforts was Perlhumus, a soil conditioner based on highly oxidized soft brown coal.

1999

WESKO changed owners in 1999: The entrepreneurs Dipl.-Chem.-Ing. Müfit Tarhan and Dipl.-Soz.päd. Aydogan Cengiz took over the company. Shortly afterwards they began developing further humic acid based soil conditioners in addition to their core product Perlhumus.

2001

WESKO was rebranded to Humintech GmbH in 2001. Furthermore, the company opened many new fields of application for humic acid based manufacture and developed products for the use in agriculture, livestock breeding, the industrial sector and environmental technology.

2013

In 2013 Humintech moved their headquarters from Düsseldorf to Grevenbroich, North Rhine-Westphalia. Their innovation and manufacturing facilities are located close to the commodities, right next to the Garzweiler II brown coal mine.

2015

The official opening of the new manufacturing plant took place in September 2015.
