Hydroseeding

Hydroseeding, also referred to as wet-seeding or hydraulic seeding, is a bioengineering process for the rapid greening of surfaces. It is used in the absence of topsoil (during reclamation), on coarse-grained ground or on slopes that are endangered by erosion and whose surfaces have to be stabilized quickly. Seed, mulch material, fertilizer, soil additives and organic glue are mixed with water (the carrier substance) for hydroseeding. By means of a high density solid pump, the resulting mixture is sprayed onto the surfaces to be greened. Greening with the hydroseeding process is mainly used in problem areas such as embankments, landfills, dams and steep slopes.
