Humic acids are isolated from certain types of brown coals, and they are present in small numbers almost in every type of food, either for animals or for humans. According to their properties, they seem to have the following effects:

- Fixation of micro-organisms, toxins and harmful substances in animal feed
- Promotion of growth
- Stimulation of the immune system
When Huminfeed is applied, it forms a kind of protecting film on the mucosa cells of the intestine. This protection reduces the resorption of toxic substances, as they may occur as a follow-up from infectious processes or from residues from animal feed in the intestinal tract.
Huminfeed has the distinct property to absorb toxines from proteins, toxic residues and various heavy metals. As Huminfeed is not absorbed by the intestine, it will be excreted by feces.
